Getting there is half the battle

After a small glitch in ticketing at O'Hare on Thursday (9/29), Jared, Ruby, and I (along with about 500 pounds of STUFF) were off. We flew on the very impressive SAS airline, which was quite lovely. They fed us LOTS and had all kinds of games and movies to keep us distracted the whole flight. Jared encouraged Ruby and I to sleep all we could though and we were able to nap for 4 or 5 hours. We had a short layover in Stockholm (another stamp in my passport!) where we discovered that Sweden doesn't do gate checking, so we were forced to carry Ruby along with all of our carry-ons across the airport to our connecting flight. It wasn't that big of a deal. When we arrived in Copenhagen (Friday 9/30) however, Ruby's stroller hadn't arrived. Thankfully, everything else did make it without incident. After a crash course back into the Danish language Jared was able to get a claim filed and we were on our way to our new home. Which, if you don't have it is:

We were met by our very kind neighbors Ole (pronounced oooh-la) and his wife (we still aren't sure of her name!). Ole took us shopping for groceries and to find some necessities for Ruby while his wife babysat Ruby. Of course in the US we probably wouldn't have handed over our daughter so quickly to perfect strangers, but they seemed harmless. They also lent us a stroller (well, a pram really, but more on that later!) which was really sweet. That first day is quite fuzzy, but we were very pleasantly surprised with our home. I'm having technical difficulties, so we'll start by showing this one picture of the house which I can't seem to move or delete!
